Mobile Mixed Reality
Meanwhile mobile devices such as smartphones achieve computing and graphics power similar to those of PCs just a couple of years ago. Additionally, they integrate high-res cameras and novel sensors, including multi-touch input, inertial sensors and GPS.
This allows us to realize mixed and augmented reality application on such devices. To do so, the handheld device typically applies the magic lens metaphor. Based on the input from the back camera, the display shows the environment similar to looking through a window. The content can now be modified or extended by additional information and virtual objects.
Our research is concerned with the realization of mobile Mixed Reality technologies for smartphones and other mobile devices. Additionally, we investigate in new interaction techniques for mobile use.
