These website delivers insight into the department’s activities which are focused on communication and digital media in education  and scientific research.

In media education the Department of Communication Science cooperates with the Institute of Media Technology (IMT) as well as with the Institute of Media and Communication Science (IfMK). It contributes to all courses related to media at the Ilmenau University of Technology.

Together with the university’s professors and staff who are organized by the IfMK, the department takes the responsibility for the Bachelor course "Applied Media Studies".

The Department of Communication Science also provides students with technical resources and specialized laboratories. Furthermore the department assists the use of media equipment and offers technical support to the IfMK.
