Reiner Thomä
Reiner Thomä provides valuable experience on multidimensional channel sounding, propagation parameter estimation and MIMO channel modeling, antenna array and MIMO transceiver signal processing, localization and tracking. In addition, he has extensive links to international networks, e.g. NEWCOM, COST 2100, and acts as speaker for the DFG Priority Program UKoLOS. more...
Quality Manager
Kai-Uwe Sattler
Kai-Uwe Sattler is focusing on distributed data management. His experience on the application of self* techniques in decentralized systems as P2P and grid systems is very valuable for the School. In addition, Kai´s group has done extensive experimental work on self* mechanisms in large virtual networks, especially in the PlanetLab. more...
Professor
Horst-Michael Groß
Horst-Michael Groß´ research focus is on neuroinformatics and cognitive robotics aiming at the development of behavior-oriented machine intelligence and the evolution and organization of behaviors in actively learning and self-organizing systems. Experience in self-learning techniques is essential for self-organization in mobile communication systems. more...
Professor
Martin Haardt
Martin Haardt provides experience in the area of signal processing for MIMO systems and radio channel models. Both self-organized MIMO systems as well as channel modeling play an important role in the School. In addition, he is our contact person to several European networks of excellence in the radio and protocol area. more...
Professor
Matthias Hein
Matthias Hein is focusing an antenna technology, microwave technology, hardware reconfigurability and energy efficiency. His contributions to the School are studies of the technological feasibility of self-organized, cognitive radio systems, esp. concerning analog radio frequency (RF) and hardware devices. more...
Professor
Günter Schäfer
Günter Schäfer is the responsible person for security and security architectures in communication systems in the School. Especially his experience on reputation-based access control in ad-hoc networks, Denial-of-Service (DoS)-resistance, and secure and scalable implementation of location services is important for the School. more...
Professor
Jochen Seitz
Jochen Seitz´ research focus is on location- and context-based services as well as service and network management in mobile and converging networks. Additionally, recent projects covered ad-hoc networks and their integration into the Internet world. All of them are important aspects of the School. more...
Professor
Albert Heuberger
Albert Heuberger provides experience in the field of digital broadcasting technology and standards. As the head of both the Digital Broadcasting Research Laboratory at Ilmenau University of Technology and the Fraunhofer Project Group Wireless Distribution Systems / Digital Broadcasting, his research focuses on land-mobile satellite channel modelling, multi-standard/multi-mode receiver technology, new architectures for efficient real-time signal processing, diversity concepts (multi-antenna systems), and convergence of classical broadcasting with new or other systems. more...
