05.2015 Mr. Shipu Xu (from South China Normal University, China) and Mrs. Benrong Hai (from Northeastern University, China) will join our group as PhD students from September 2015. They have winned schlorship of China Scholarship Council (CSC). The CSC is a non-profit institution to support excellent Chinese students to study abroad. Welcome!

 

 

05.2015 Mrs. Yan Mi has winned “Chinese Goverment Award for Outstanding Self-financed Students Abroad“. Prof. Lei is invited as representive of professor to give a presentation.

02.2015 Recently, we are focusing on the molecular design to enhance the sodium-ion battery performance especially for fast charging and discharging. This work has been published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society (http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/jacs.5b00336). Just after our work was published online, the phys.org highlighted our research with the title of “Na-ion batteries get closer to replacing Li-ion batteries” (http://phys.org/news/2015-03-na-ion-batteries-closer-li-ion.html). Based on our research results, they think that “the large improvement may help pave the way toward the integration of Na-ion batteries in portable and wearable electronics”. Moreover, our research attract great interest of Samsung Electronics GmbH and they ask for the potential cooperation.

11.2014 In November 2014, the third status seminar of the BMBF ZIK project ‘3DNanoDevice’ was successfully held in the IMN MacroNano® (ZIK) at TU Ilmenau together with the representatives from BMBF und Projektträger Jülich. Prof. Yong Lei presented the scientific outputs and current status of this project, and five scientists from his group also presented their progresses within the project.

11.2014 Dr. Qianwen Li from Anhui Agricultural University (China) received schlorship of China Scholarship Council (CSC). She will visit our group for one year for experiment and cooperation.

11.2014 Dr. Dawei Cao received prestigious Humboldt Research Fellowship for Postdoctor Researchers this year for his research proposal on photoelectrochemical energy conversion using highly ordered nanostructures with template-assistance method. Congratulations!

07.2014 Our group successfully organized the 1st International Conference & the 3rd International MacroNano-Colloquium on the Challenges and Perspectives of Functional Nanostructures (CPFN) together with the Institute for Micro- and Nanotechnology (IMN) MacroNano® on July 29th-31st, 2014. This conference was sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany (BMBF) and discussed new concepts and techniques of nanostructuring to solve fundamental crosscutting topics for advance energy-related applications, optical and electronic devices. Over 100 participants registered for oral and poster presentations and more than 20 of the world’s best scientists introduced their revolutionary breakthroughs in their respective fields, including Prof. Zhonglin Wang (Georgia Institute of Technology, USA), Prof. Ulrich S. Schubert (Friedrich Schiller University Jena, Germany), Prof. Andrey L. Rogach (City University of Hong Kong, China), Prof. Harald Giessen (University of Stuttgart, Germany), Prof. Shuhong Yu (University of Science and Technology of China, China), and a few professors from TU Ilmenau. Dr. Christoph Wannek, Project Management Agency for the BMBF, gave a greeting speech on behalf of BMBF and Dr. Brunsch Melanie, advisor of IMN, gave an introduction of IMN to all the participants on behalf of IMN.

09.2013 Prof. Puxian Gao from University of Connecticut (USA) received Humboldt Research Fellowships for Experienced Researchers (Prof. Yong Lei as one of the hosts) and will visit our group for one year for experiment and cooperation.    

12.2012 Staus seminar ZIK 3D NanoDevices (December 2012). The first seminar on the status of the ZIK 3D NanoDevices with representatives of the BMBF on 10 December 2012. Prof. Lei gave a general report on the scientific development and the current state of the project ZIK 3D NanoDevices. Then presented five scientists from the field of their current research in the field of organic electronics, sensors, and high-performance energy storage. After the seminar, the state of research of the ZIK 3D NanoDevices by the representatives of the BMBF has been praised.
