Manuscript Submission Guidelines

Paper Requirements

Submitted papers must present previously unpublished research. The manuscript should be of sufficient detail to permit reasonable evaluation by experts in the field. Accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings published by the VDE Verlag GmbH and will be included in IEEE Xplore digital library.

All submissions must be written in English.

Initial as well as final papers will be limited to a length of 8 pages and must be prepared according to the typing instructions at www.vde.com/typing-instructions
Papers prepared according the IEEE template at http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html
will also be accepted. Please make sure that an A4 format (not letter size) will be submitted. The work should contain a concise presentation of the main contribution, its relevance, and its relation to prior work. All submitted papers will be peer reviewed for their quality, correctness, originality, and relevance.

Electronic Paper Submission

Extended abstracts (maximum 2 pages) as well as full papers (maximum 8 pages) submissions will be accepted by the paper submission tool Converia. If you don’t have your own Converia account yet, you can create one during the submission process at https://conferences.tu-ilmenau.de/frontend/index.php?sub=182

Ensure that your complete affiliation including your postal address, phone, fax and especially email is up to date.

Registration and submission of your paper

During paper registration you will be asked to:

  • Enter the title and the topic of your abstract.
  • Upload your abstract, which must be in PDF format. The document should not have more than 8 pages and the filesize should not exceed 50 MB. (see format requirements below)
  • Enter the author list and contact details.
  • Confirm your submission details and complete the process.

The updated draft paper submission or draft paper updates can be done any time after the paper has been registered, but not later than the submission deadline on November 2, 2014.
Note that only pdf file format is accepted.

Author registration

Authors will be asked to submit a final manuscript (maximum 8 pages) after their submitted abstract has been accepted by the reviewers. The conference proceedings will only contain papers that are presented in the conference. Therefore, at least one author must register for full rate until the deadline on January 22, 2014 (=camera ready submission deadline). Students, submitting papers, must also register for full rate.

One full registration can cover up to two papers. Failure to register before the deadline will result in withdrawal of the paper from the conference program and the proceedings. Any paper included in the conference program, but not being presented at the conference according to the published schedule will not appear in the official proceedings in IEEE Xplore.

Do not forget to read the Copyright Agreement. When supplying your contribution to the VDE, you agree with these conditions.
