Current process regarding the Congress “CERAMIC VALUES: Can Ceramics make a difference?”

In October 2017, the Congress “CERAMIC VALUES: Can Ceramics make a difference?” will take place in the City of Stoke-on-Trent. The current process of the preparation of the Congress was the main topic Ulster University reported about during the partner meeting in Finland in November 2016.

Prior to the meeting, discussions progressed with module partners in Stoke-on-Trent and Belfast to establish the Congress focus, theme, and venues following a site visit in June 2016.

Between June and November 2016, the conference call for papers was mapped out under three themes: Skills, Values, and Place. These three themes seek to create a forum for dialogue that recognises historical legacy, contemporary context, and future challenges for ceramics.

The current call for papers received over 3.600 expressions of interest within one week for its launch on the Ceramics and its Dimensions website. Since then, the Ulster University team has received further expressions of interest indicating a growing interest for the Congress.

Online systems are currently being established to be able to receive responses to call for papers and to conference registration.
