Control Engineering

Main research areas

In our work we deal with the development and improvement of methods in control theory and control engineering practice. This includes to validate recent methods from modern control theory within real-world environments and also to motivate and develop new control approaches from practical reasoning. Our research focuses on:

  • Adaptive controller design
  • Variable structure and sliding mode control
  • System inversion and tracking
  • Robust optimal control schemes
  • Modulation and FIR-filter based estimation

    Range of services

    • extension studies on fundamentals and advanced methods in control
    • system theoretical analysis of control architectures
    • stability analysis for systems with complex dynamics
    • control loop synthesis for systems with nonlinear dynamics

    Special equipment

    • flexible real-time capable hardware systems for Matlab/Simulink-based designs
    • frequency analyzer for process identification purposes
    • laboratory setups and demonstrators for various modern control concepts
