Sex Education on the Internet

Prof. Döring Publishes in Bundesgesundheitsblatt

If adolescents do not address their sex related questions at “Dr. Sommer” of the Bravo magazine, but instead at “Dr. Google” or “Dr. YouTube”, what will they find online? Prof. Döring, research group media psychology and media design, examines this question in her original contribution “Sex Education on the Internet. From Dr. Sommer to Dr. Google”. The contribution was released in August, 2017, in the peer-reviewed journal "Bundesgesundheitsblatt - Gesundheitsforschung - Gesundheitsschutz" (Springer, Impact Factor: 1.147).  It demonstrates that German sex education on the internet exists in many forms, but it also shows that the established specialized institutions (e.g., BZgA, pro familia, Deutsche Aidshilfen) failed to take the lead as providers for adolescents.
