Jury Meeting Goes To The Second Round

On 7 September 2018, six young creatives will be selected as the new Future Lights in Ceramics 2019. As part of a public competition under the motto "Go green – Ceramics and the Environment", 18 participants from 8 countries (with 13 nationalities) in Kilkenny Castle's Kilkenny Parade Tower in Kilkenny, Ireland showcase how innovative and diverse ceramics can be. A preselection was already made at a first jury meeting in May 2018 in Ilmenau. In total, 49 artists and designers from 15 countries applied to the international competition Future Lights in Ceramics. Next year, the winners will jointly present their work to an international audience at the Ambiente consumer goods fair in Frankfurt.

The Future Lights in Ceramics competition is taking place for the third time, with the aim of promoting international artists, diners and scientists in the field of ceramics. Under the auspices of the Porzellanikon – Staatliches Museum für Porzellan, the international competition is part of the Ceramics and its Dimension project, funded by the EU as part of the Creative Europe program and by the JECS Trust of the European Ceramic Society.
