Gendered Hate Comments on YouTube versus YouNow

Prof. Döring and Dr. Mohseni publish in the Journal „Studies in Communication and Media“

In their article „Gendered hate speech in YouTube and YouNow comments: Results of two content analyses“ – published in „Studies in Communication and Media“ (the Open Access Journal of the German Communication Association „DGPuK“) – Prof. Dr. Nicola Döring and Dr. Rohangis Mohseni, Research Group Media Psychology and Media Design, present another study on sexist hate comments on YouTube (N = 8000) and its replication on YouNow (N = 6844). Again, it was found that compared to men, women receive a disproportional amount of hostile and benevolent sexist comments on both video platforms.
