By car

Coming from the highway A71 - exit Ilmenau Ost, continue on the B87 to Ilmenau. After approx. 1 kilometer turn left into the street "Auf dem Steine", the junction before the Agip gas station. Follow the road for approx. 300m. Then turn right into the one-way street "Am Ehrenberg". Take the first right into "Gustav-Kirchhoff-Straße". The Department of Energy Use Optimization is located in the Meitnerbau, the first building on the right-hand side (after the barrier). Parking is available via the path on the left in front of the barrier.

By train

From Ilmenau train station

Walk approx. 10 minutes in the direction of Rudolstadt/Königsee (along Langewiesener Straße). Turn left into Ehrenbergstraße onto the TU Ilmenau campus. Follow the road past the Ernst Abbe Center and the canteen in the direction of the Audimax. Walk up Ehrenbergweg, past the Audimax, to the end of Gustav-Kirchhoff-Platz. Then turn left into Gustav-Kirchhoff-Straße and follow it to the end at the Meitnerbau (the building to the left of the barrier).
