Office for Gender Equity

The Office for Gender Equity (OGE) is directed by the Equality Officer (EO) and her supporting Equality Council Delegate (ECG).

First concerns about gender equity as well as diversity issues at Technische Universität Ilmenau are directed to the OGE.

Equality Agenda

Our Duties

Equality Delegates and Gender Equity Council (GEC) are both responsible for:

  • provision of consultation service to the university management in the context of constitutionally defined gender equity and support possibilities on different qualification levels
  • consultation service for university members on questions concerning equality in labor law  
  • support of measures to increase the amount of female students in scientic as well as technical study fields

Regarding both content and organization, the Office for Gender Equity (OGE) realizes tangible aims and visions defined by the GEC, as: 

  • consulting with respect to the realization of a gender equitable personnel policy for all university staff
  • supervision of projects initiated by the GEC with the aim to increase the percentage of women
  • organisation of events on the topic of women and gender equity

OGE also consults on:

  • scientific career guidance  
  • social counselling in cooperation with Campus-Familie (pregnancy, parental leave, reconciliation of professional and private life)
  • sexual harrassment at the university
