01.11.2018 - Best Poster Award (1st Place) for Thomas Jochmann

at ISMRM Workshop on Machine Learning in Washington, D.C.

Thomas Jochmann has been awarded the 1st place for the best poster at the ISMRM Workshop on Machine Learning in Washington, D.C., USA.

On his poster, Thomas presented a novel, deep learning-based method to map magnetic susceptibilities in the human brain using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Mapping the susceptibility can help us improve our understanding of the brain and its diseases, e.g. Multiple Sclerosis and Alzheimer’s Disease.

The work with the title “DEEPOLE QUASAR–A Physics-Informed Deep Convolutional Neural Network to Disentangle MRI Phase Contrast Mechanisms” by Thomas Jochmann, Jens Haueisen, Robert Zivadinov, and Ferdinand Schweser was done in collaboration with researchers from the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Biophysics Labs der University at Buffalo, USA.
