19.07.2018 – New publication within the BMBF project MAMUD

Within the article „Experimental Characterization and Correlation of Mayer Waves in Retinal Vessel Diameter and Arterial Blood Pressure“ we measured and characterized Mayer Waves, spontaneous variations in the cardiovascular system, in arteries and veins in the retina as well as in arterial blood pressure. For the first time, a temporal dependency of Mayer Waves in vessel diameter and blood pressure was investigated and proven.

We detected and characterized Mayer Waves by spectrogram analysis. These are spontaneous variations in the cardiovascular system which are visible on vessel diameters (right).
