Two new research assistants in the Virtual Worlds and Digital Games Group

Chao-Yang Fu finished his studies at National Cheng Kung University 2017 with a master in Geomatics where he specialized on Photogrammetry and Computer Vision. In his Master thesis with the title “Precision of Orientation Data of Dual Forwards Photographing Cameras on MMS Determined by Visual Odometry Based on Disparity Changing”, he focused on analyzing the performance of localization based on visual data for vehicle. Since February 2019 he is working at the Virtual Worlds and Digital Games research group for Professor Dr. Wolfgang Broll. There, he is working on the project ARCHITECT, researching indoor 3D reconstruction based on monocular sequential images for augmented reality applications.

Christoph Gerhardt finished his studies at TU Ilmenau 2016 with a master in computer engineering where he specialized on multimedia information and communication systems. In his Master thesis with the title “Selective encryption of faces in h.264 videos”, he focused on enhancing privacy of individuals recorded by surveillance cameras. Afterwards, he worked for 2,5 years as a research assistant at Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology in the field of virtual acoustics and spatial audio. Since February 2019 he is working at the Virtual Worlds and Digital Games research group for Professor Dr. Wolfgang Broll. There, he is working on the project ROADWORKS, researching image based localization and object detection for outdoor augmented reality applications.
