EMPK joins discussion about the labor market of tomorrow in Thüringen

Prisicla Berger, member of the Research Group Empirical Media Research participated in the conference "Digital Youth Work 3.0. Competences for the Labor Market of Tomorrow" in July..

The research conducted in the EMPK about media education in schools was present in the conference “Digital Youth Work 3.0. – Competences for the Labor Market of Tomorrow”, which took place on 10th of July 2019 in Erfurt. Priscila Berger participated as panelist in the event, talking about the teaching and learning of digital competences in schools, based on results of the research project “Media literacy in Thuringian schools”.

Together with representatives from the industry, politics and training institutions, it was discussed about competence demands of a labor market increasingly characterized by digital media as well as the barriers, which need to be overcome to respond to those demands. The panel discussion was summarized in real time in form of an illustration (see image).

The conference was organized by the NGO Culture Goes Europe, which has a focus on promoting media literacy among youth.
