Bengt Johansson from the University of Gothenburg (Sweden) visited the Institute of Media and Communication Science from 4 to 6 November as part of the Erasmus exchange programme (mobility of lecturers). He was invited by Dr. Andreas Schwarz from the Group for Research in Public Relations and Communication of Technology, who visited Gothenburg in September 2018.

Bengt Johansson is professor at the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication (JMG) at the University of Gothenburg and teaches master students and doctoral students. His research focuses on political communication as well as risk and crisis communication. During his stay in Ilmenau, Professor Johansson gave lectures on political scandals, political advertising and media policy in Sweden.

The University of Gothenburg is Sweden's third oldest university and, being the home of 38,000 students, one of Scandinavia's largest universities. Dr. Andreas Schwarz, who is also the internationalization officer of the Department of Economic Sciences and Media, is currently working on expanding TU Ilmenau's relations with the University of Gothenburg in research and teaching.
