Do Online Sexual Activities and Sexting Promote Sexual Well-Being?

Prof. Döring and Dr. Mohseni Publish in the International Journal of Sexual Health

International Journal of Sexual Health

In their journal article „Are Online Sexual Activities and Sexting Good for Adults’ Sexual Well-Being? Results From a National Online Survey“ published in the International Journal of Sexual Health (Impact Factor 1.014), Prof. Dr. Nicola Döring and Dr. Rohangis Mohseni, research group media psychology and media design, present the results of a representative survey of N = 1500 adult internet users from Germany concerning online sexual activities and sexting. It was found that online sexual activities and sexting with a lifetime prevalence of 68% and 41% respectively are widespread and that the perceived positive outcomes outweigh the negative. Online sexuality among adults should therefore be regarded as normal and mostly positive behavior.
