- Nowadays, more and more attention is paid to a growing number of applications using wireless communication. One of the most representative and vibrant examples is represented by Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Modern technologies have made it possible to build WSNs using inexpensive and small nodes, also known as motes. For many WSNs applications, it is well-known that the determination of the node’s location is of prime importance.
In this paper we examine the performance of some of the best known localization algorithms with the focus on indoor environment. Among the plethora of possible localization schemes, we have chosen those low-cost solutions only, which do not require extra circuitry that would result in higher payment and energy consumption.
