Intercultural Engagement Award of the City of Ilmenau and the International Office
You are studying at the TU Ilmenau and are also active in other clubs or individually in the social field? You try to help people with different cultural backgrounds and bring them together? You help to strengthen the connection between the Ilmenau population and the students, no matter where the people come from?
Then apply now for the Intercultural Award, as the International Office and the City of Ilmenau would like to reward your intercultural commitment! The prize is endowed with 500 €.
All students (Bachelor, Master, Diploma, Doctorate) of the TU Ilmenau can apply by e-mail in English or German with the following documents (PDF format):
- Motivation letter incl. your engagement activities (max. 1 A4 pages)
- CV (tabular format)
- Overview of previous academic achievements
- Letter of recommendation, related to the honorary position (either from a private person or an association)
- Current certificate of enrolment
The application deadline is October 8, 2023.

DAAD Award for International Students
You are not from Germany and are a student at the TU Ilmenau? You have very good academic achievements and are well integrated into campus life? Are you committed to your fellow human beings, are you a member of a club or are you involved in socio-political, social or cultural activities in a special way?
Then apply now for the DAAD Award - endowed with 1000,- €!

Our university is not only globally connected in teaching and research, but also experiences internationality in numerous facets on campus. On the one hand, this is expressed in a large number of international projects, more than 220 cooperations with universities and research institutions worldwide, an increasing number of study programs and courses offered in English, and a growing number of international students and employees.
