200€ energy payment for students - here's how to get it!

Soon the application for the 200€ is possible. You can find out how it works here.

Last year, the federal government had already promised to pay out €200 to all students to compensate for the increased energy costs. Now there is finally concrete information on how this will work.

First of all: You won't get the money automatically. Students have to apply for it. This can be done from March 15 via the platform Einmalzahlung200.de. To apply for the money, you need a so-called BundID. You can create this using your electronic ID card, electronic residence permit, EU identity or EU citizen card. For all those who have already made a tax return and have ELSTER access, the ELSTER certificate is also sufficient to create the ID. Alternatively, you can get the BundID by registering with username and password. Anyone who was enrolled at a German university on December 1, 2022 can apply for the €200. Residence or citizenship are irrelevant. To apply, you will need a so-called university code. You can retrieve this code from March 15 via the online examination and student administration ( os.tu-ilmenau.de).

The student council of the TU Ilmenau has put a lot of effort into creating a step-by-step guide on how to apply for the one-time payment. You can find the instructions on the website of the student council.
The instructions will be further concretized step by step as soon as more information on the topic is available.
