Social Science Methods in the Wikipedia

The participative online encyclopedia Wikipedia has become an important channel of science communication. Against the background of current literature, the qualification thesis will examine the subject of social science research methods in Wikipedia: The Wikipedia contributions will be evaluated by means of quantitative media content and media quality analyses. At the theoretical level, quality criteria of science communication are to be applied from the point of view of communication science and, in addition, Wikipedia-related quality research is to be taken into account. As a grid for the search and evaluation of Wikipedia entries on social science research methods, relevant methodological sources are to be used.
