New perspectives on participation in Erasmus+.

Diversity in the world of work begins with equal access to education. A study period abroad not only provides students with new knowledge, but also promotes their personal development. With the current Erasmus+ Inclusion Strategy, the Nationale Agentur für Erasmus+ Hochschulzusammenarbeit (NA) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) are expanding opportunities for participation in the current funding period 2021-2027 through

  • more flexible mobility formats such as Short Term Mobilities and Blended Mobilities
  • additional financial support for students with low starting opportunities

For over 35 years, the Erasmus+ programme has enabled stays for study and traineeship purposes, for teaching, further education and training purposes, as well as the implementation of cooperation projects in Europe and worldwide. In Germany, the Nationale Agentur Erasmus+ Hochschulzusammenarbeit (NA DAAD) is responsible for the implementation of Erasmus+ in higher education.

The Technische Universität Ilmenau offers the possibility for Erasmus+ studies and internships for students as well as formats for teachers and staff.

At Technische Universität Ilmenau as well as in the consortium of Thuringian universities EU-Praktikum THÜRINGEN, the additional funding opportunities for participants in Erasmus stays abroad have already been introduced step by step. These top-up amounts in addition to the monthly scholarship rate are aimed at participants who travel by sustainable means (Top-Up Green Travel) and in particular at participants with fewer opportunities (Top-Up Fewer Opportunities):

  • Participants with a child
  • Participants with a degree of disability (20 or more)
  • first-time graduates
  • working students (who have to pause their part-time job for the stay abroad)
  • Participants with a chronic illness
