Semesterticket is valid as 9-Euro-Ticket

With today's decision of the Bundesrat it is now certain: In June, July and August it is possible to travel nationwide with the 9-Euro-Ticket at a reduced price and the semester ticket of the students will be recognized as such. The 9-Euro-Ticket is valid per month, regardless of the number of days used. It can be used on all buses, streetcars, subways, commuter trains, and local and regional trains. As proof, students show the thoska+ and a valid photo ID.

The 9-euro ticket is one component of the federal government's relief package, which is intended to cushion increased costs for electricity, heating, food and mobility. On the other hand, it is intended to make traveling by public transportation more attractively accessible.

Since students in Thuringia pay a fixed amount for the semester ticket per semester, and this amounts to more than 9 euros per month at the universities in Erfurt, Gera, Jena, Nordhausen and Weimar, students at these universities will be reimbursed a corresponding share. However, the timing, form and scope of this refund have not yet been determined at this time. The Studierendenwerk Thüringen is committed to the students and is holding intensive talks with the transport companies, the state government and the Conference of Thuringian Student Bodies to this end and is working on a quick solution - so that the students can experience financial relief as soon as possible. As soon as more details are known, the Studierendenwerk Thüringen will inform again.
