Juliane KochThis work package investigates GaInP layers that contain less indium and gallium. The aim is to design the transitions between the different layers for use in solar cells in such a way that currents can flow efficiently. To achieve this, it is important to minimise losses caused by various physical processes.
For applications in photoelectrochemical water splitting, it is crucial that both the III-V materials and the metal oxide passivation layers applied to these materials remain stable under real operating conditions. This means that they must also be resistant to extreme conditions, such as high or low pH values. This ensures that the materials retain their function in the long term and work efficiently, which is particularly important for the durability and effectiveness of solar cells and other energy-generating systems.
