PhD group "SustEnMat"

The interdisciplinary PhD working group "SustEnMat" is a place for exchange, collaboration and new ideas. PhD students from different fields come together here to discuss their research, technologies used and scientific issues - regardless of their own specialist area. The aim is to learn from each other, discover synergies and support each other in their research.

A particular focus is on sharing practical experience with laboratory equipment and technologies that could also be helpful for others. At the same time, access to the resources of the Center for Micro- and Nanotechnologies (ZMN ) is to be facilitated - for example by providing tips or contact persons. The members also help each other with scientific publications or conference presentations.

The group thrives on different formats: In short "pitches", participants present their current projects or technical challenges - for example on the production and analysis of semiconductors. In specialist presentations, they provide exciting insights into current research topics, such as M. Großmann's presentation on the search for sustainable energy materials using artificial intelligence. There will also be open discussions - for example on what is actually meant by the term "criticality" or how best to implement joint sub-projects.
