The Thuringian University Start-up Network provides competent support for those interested in starting a business. The services offered range from consulting and coaching services to qualification and teaching offers, network contacts, premises as well as access to funding opportunities. Due to the diversity of fields of activity and competences of the Thuringian universities, the network offers the possibility of a cross-location and interdisciplinary exchange for founders and start-up projects.
The Thuringian Centre for Start-ups and Entrepreneurship (ThEx) is a central point of contact for those interested in setting up a business as well as for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The ThEx makes the diverse range of consulting and support services offered by the institutions associated with the ThEx available in a concentrated, transparent and targeted manner.
The ''Thüringer Bogen'' is the new regional brand of the districts of Gotha and Ilm-Kreis, the economically strongest districts in Thuringia. As a partner of business and administration, of educational institutions and associations, the regional management actively shapes the economic and living region in the ''Thüringer Bogen''.
The economic development officers of the city of Ilmenau support those interested in founding a company, start-ups and young companies on site as personal contacts. The performance center InSignA - Intelligent Signal Analysis and Assistance Systems forms the shoulder of university and non-university research with the economy. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) Südthüringen is the initial information point for start-ups. The IHK provides you with all the important basic information you need to start your own business. Whether it is information on industries, market analyses, forms of distribution, marketing or the preparation of a business plan - the IHK offers individual advice on legal and business management issues relating to the start-up. In addition, the IHK guides through the most important federal and state funding programs and reviews funding applications.
The Mittelstand-Digital Zentrum Ilmenau delivers hands-on digitization with practical demonstration and implementation projects. It supports regional companies in the implementation of solutions for concrete problems in the companies. Due to the predominantly small-scale structure of companies in the region, the digitization of business processes and closer networking are of particular importance.
Providing information competently, quickly and comprehensively is the aim of PATON | Patent Center Thuringia (Landespatentzentrum Thüringen) at the Technische Universität Ilmenau. For more than 25 years, PATON's team of experts has been dealing with topics of information and data processing in the fields of patents, trademarks and designs in research, teaching and practice.
The Start-up Service Ilmkubator, UNIKAT, the university library, the Lehrwerkstatt and the Central Institute for Education (ZIB) together build the university's FabLab, a blended makerspace at four locations on campus.
