RF and Microwave Research Group

Welcome to the
RF and Microwave Research Group,
Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
at the Technische Universität Ilmenau.

Information Winter Semester 20/21

Dear Students,

registration for all lectures of the RF & Microwave Research Group is in Moodle; no registration key is required.
Under the following link you will find all Moodle courses of the subject area. to the Moodle courses

Due to the ongoing special regulations for protection against COVID19 infections, the WS20/21 will be held with hybrid event forms. Subjects with internships are generally held in classroom form. The online events will be broadcast live via Webex at the times indicated; the corresponding dial-in data will be announced shortly via Moodle. The transmissions will be recorded and made available to you approximately two weeks before the end of the lecture period to prepare for the examinations in Moodle.

Enclosed you will find an overview of the event form in detail:

- Microwave Engineering all types of events in presence
- Hochfrequenztechnik 1 - Komponenten -> Lecture and exercises online
- Funksysteme -> Both lecture parts and exercises online
- Mikrowellenfernerkundung / Radartechnik -> all types of events in presence
- Schaltungen und Bausteine der Hochfrequenz- und Mikrowellentechnik -> all types of events in presence
- Elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit in der Informations-und Kommunikationstechnik -> all types of events in attendance

We hope that you get through the new semester in good health and wish you a successful study.
The HMT team will be happy to answer your questions and suggestions.

Your HMT Team

Radio links continue to surround and alleviate our daily business and private life. More and more applications are being explored, requiring increasing data rates, bandwidths, and carrier frequencies. It is this dynamically developing context to which our contributions to research and education are associated.

Our lecture courses, seminars, and labs provide detailed basic and advanced knowledge of the different views and applications of RF and microwave techniques. You are welcome to obtain an overview on these internet sites.

We offer challenging research topics suitable for student projects, Bachelor, Master, and doctoral theses, tailored to your individual background and interest. Funding agencies include the Freestate of Thuringia, the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation), the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the European Union, or industrial partners. The spectrum reaches from the development of novel RF and microwave devices to application-specific components and subsystems, from computer-aided design to numerical simulations and experimental verification. You may find actual topics here.

Our Research Group forms part of the Institute for Information Technology; at the same time, it is closely related to the inter-departmental institutes IMN (micro- and nano-technologies), IAP (especially vehicular technologies), and IMMK (media and mobile comunnications). This background offers modern infrastructure, competence, and sound knowhow, as well as a highly actual range of activities.

We will be happy to get into contact with you.
