Description

The degree course in Computer Science and Systems Engineering is an engineering course of study with a systems engineering orientation, which teaches both the means and methods of computer science and electrical engineering.

The solution of engineering tasks increasingly requires profound knowledge of computer science. Modern products such as motor vehicles, mobile phones or medical devices are based on the complex interaction of highly integrated hardware and specialized software. The functional diversity of today's products is partly achieved by integrated software. The use of software also plays a major role in the development of traffic control systems or drinking water supply networks. Complex processes are analysed and modelled with an engineer's eye, simulated with the computer and finally designed optimally. The early integration of software competence into the development process of new products and systems is a decisive criterion for success nowadays.

Computer Science and Systems Engineering is an interdisciplinary course of studies. A successful study leads to the professional qualification "Bachelor of Science". It qualifies for the Master's degree course that builds on this.

Practice during studies

The basic internship is a course of study with a total duration of six weeks. If possible, it should be completed before the course of study, but can be completed by the start of the bachelor thesis.
