Description

The course of study is consecutive and builds on the Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering. It can also be attended by graduates of the closely related bachelor programs Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer and Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management (MB) or graduates from other technical bachelor programs such as Electrical Engineering, Optronics, Micro- and Systemtechnologies, Natural sciences, Computer Science or Media Technology that can attest 210 credit points.

The motor vehicle as a complex technical product requires development skills at a high level and on a university-wide scale. Therefore, development work can only be carried out on an interdisciplinary basis. The Master's programme in Automotive Engineering builds on a broad professional education in the fundamentals of natural sciences and engineering and expands this with a specific profile of automotive engineering. In teaching and research, this profile is oriented towards the fields of mechatronics, design of mobile systems, human-machine interaction, ergonomics, resource-saving operation of motor vehicles with regard to the efficiency of drive technology units and the improvement of vibration and noise comfort.

The training is oriented to the state of the art through intensive research cooperation with the automotive and supplier industry in Germany and abroad, particularly in the areas of development, testing, production and quality assurance. Practice-oriented teaching is guaranteed by intensive training in vehicle-related design, measurement and simulation technology, modern practical training in the laboratory and on the vehicle test track, and close links with honorary professors and guest lecturers.
