Description

Optical System Technology combines the engineering knowledge of the disciplines Optic, Electronics, Mechanics and Information technologyin a new discipline. It comprises the entirety of physical, chemical and biological natural laws and technologies for the generation, amplification, shaping, transmission, measurement and utilization of light.

Graduates from the master program Optical System Technology are interdisciplinary trained optics engineers. They have profound knowledge of the physical fundamentals of electromagnetic waves and are thereby able to work methodologically and integratively through the application orientation of the program.

The program is created consecutive and bases on the bachelor degree in Optical System Technology / Optronics.

The program is mainly research-oriented and deepens skills and competences acquired from undergraduate studies in the field Optronics. Students are trained manifold in development, construction/design, modelling/simulation, technolgy and and manufacturing of micro- and macro-technical optronic products, machines, plants and processes.
