Team

Our team around Professor Stefan Krischok consists of 6 scientific employees, 3 technical employees, 3 student employees. In addition, 4 students are currently writing their final thesis in the department. They are supported by our dedicated staff and help us to gain new insights in research.

Research

Most of the research in our field is carried out with surface sensitive investigation methods - to a large extent this is photoelectron spectroscopy. In addition, other techniques such as spectral ellipsometry, photoluminescence, or scanning tunneling or scanning force microscopy are used. In addition, plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy can be used to produce thin films of various semiconductors, such as GaN or In2O3. Detailed information can be found here.

Teaching

We offer students a sound scientific education with a close connection to the engineering sciences and a comprehensive practice-oriented physics education in the fields of experimental physics, surface and interface physics and physical optics, as well as the fundamentals of physics for engineers. We attach great importance to high-quality, internationally oriented teaching, including courses taught in English.

Publications

Our scientific staff is constantly working on publishing the findings in research. In addition, students are supervised in their final theses in our department. The topics of the publications and the final theses can be found in this section.

Thesis topics and job offers

In this section you will find job offers and topics for bachelor and master theses. We are always interested in supporting students with their final theses.
