FAQ on restricted normal operation (31.01.2021)

1. When and on which conditions is the University Library open again?

The University Library in the Leibniz Building is initially open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.. Also on Saturday the University Library will be open again from 9 am to 5 pm. In addition to the lending service, the reading stations can now also be used again.

From 14.01.21 onwards, a mouth-nose covering is to be worn in all publicly accessible areas of the university library - i.e. also at the workplaces in the reading room. This regulation corresponds to the infection protection concept of the TU Ilmenau, which was updated on 11.01.21.

2. May all visitors now return to the library?

No, entrance is only permitted to persons with a thoska or library card.

3. Can I register at the University Library?

New registrations are possible. Please use our online form.

4. I need books from the Curiebibliothek. What do I have to do?

The Curiebibliothek remains closed until further notice.You can order the books of the Curiebibliothek by using the delivery service and collect them from the main library. Ordering from the Ilmenau Discovery Tool is particularly convenient.

5. How to return books?

The book is returned at the lending desk in the library. It can also be done via the book deposit at the main entrance.

6. How can I print, copy, or scan?

Our multifunctional devices are available to you again. Copies or scans from the stock of the UB can still be ordered free of charge via the delivery service.

7. I need a discharge note from the library on my de-registration application. What do I have to do to receive this note?

Please send us your application by e-mail or by post. We will process it as soon as possible and also forward it to the university.

8. Can I use the interlibrary lending service?

The interlibrary lending service can be used to a limited extent. We recommend ordering via the full service of the delivery service. The colleagues are informed exactly which orders are currently possible.

9. Are group study rooms and carrels open for use?

The group study rooms may not be used since 21.12.20.

The carrels are available since 01. 06. 2020 after registration.

10. Will there be seminars, guided tours and cultural events?

We are sorry but due to the current distance and hygiene rules we cannot offer them yet. Some seminars are provided as online seminars. You can find current information on our website.
