Practicing walking with robots

Therapy robots are being introduced at the Ilm-Kreis-Kliniken in Arnstadt. They are designed to assist patients with gait training. Data has been collected in Arnstadt since April, which will be used to develop programs and integrate them into a training robot.

The ROMOBIL research project (ROboter-assisted MOBILization of patients with clinical trials) is being carried out at the Ilm-Kreis-Kliniken by the Ilmenau-based technology companies MetraLabs and TEDIRO Healthcare Robotics, in collaboration with the Technical University of Ilmenau and Barmer Thüringen. It is part of the WIR! Alliance’s “wecare” initiative and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space.
