Growth and (in situ) characterization of group III nitrides

The preparation and characterization of nitrides is implemented in our field mainly by the application of molecular beam epitaxy and photoelectron spectroscopy. The knowledge gained is used directly for the MagSens project. The aim of one subproject is the development, fabrication and analysis of magnetoelectric composites, and in particular the investigation of the microstructural, magnetic and electrical layer properties as a function of the deposition and post-treatment parameters. The three other subprojects are closely linked to achieve the main goal of the MagSens project: The development of integrated and resonant microstructures based on magnetoelectric composites for the measurement of weakest (e.g. bio-) magnetic fields at room temperature.
