Jugend forscht - the competition

Jugend forscht is germany's best-known competition for young scientists. Its aim is to get children and young people excited about STEM subjects and to find and promote talented young people. The TU Ilmenau and the University Society of the TU Ilmenau e.V. are sponsoring companies in the competition Jugend forscht and design the framework for the regional competition of the West Thuringia region. Until 30 November 2021, children from grade 4 and young adults up to 21 years of age can register their project work for the competitions "Schüler experimentieren" and "Jugend forscht". on the website of the competition register.

For over 15 years, TU Ilmenau has opened its doors to the smartest little minds in the country and this year the tradition will continue. But special circumstances still require special measures and therefore the participants can expect a colorful online offer programme with exciting experimental videos and some age-appropriate lectures as livestream.

In order to give prospective students the best possible insight into studying at TU Ilmenau, even in the current pandemic situation, the "#couchstattcampus" (#couchinsteadofcampus) series was created. In various digital formats - from livestream to webinar - we offer students, their families, friends and all other interested parties all the necessary information and advice on study offers, application and and life in Ilmenau.

Study Info Day

Every year, TU Ilmenau offers all prospective students, their families and friends the opportunity to get to know the range of courses and the university and to ask questions about studying and living in Ilmenau on Open Day. In addition to personal counseling sessions and lectures on topics related to studying, we offer exciting insights into our laboratories and campus life.

Due to the special situation, the format of the Study Info Day will not be determined until the first quarter of 2021. More information on the programme and formats will be published on the respective event page as soon as possible.
