Vaccination

Dear colleagues and students,

This year we offer flu vaccination again, with the support of the Techniker Krankenkasse. The vaccination will take place in Meitnerbau, Room 1.1.102/103, on the following days:

Wednesday, 11.11.2020 from 9.30 am to 6.00 pm

Thursday, 12.11.2020 from 9.30 am to 6.00 pm

The flu vaccination will be carried out by Dr. med. Kielstein Ambulante Medizinische Versorgung GmbH.

All students and employees of the TU Ilmenau and the State Student Services can participate in the general flu vaccination,  if they have a statutory or private health insurance. The flu vaccination can be done while working time. 

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING FOR VACCINIATION?

The vaccination can be done only upon the presentation of: 

  • Chipkarte/ Insurance card
  • Vaccination records (if available)
  • A mask is required

 If you are a member of the statutory health insurance and do not yet have a chip card, please bring a copy of the proof of insurance as well as the proof of insurance to hand in. 

HOW CAN I REGISTER?

You can register for the flu vaccination from 8 October till 2 November via Turm 2. Please choose the date. You receive a confirmation.

WILL EVERY HEALTH INSURANCE COMPANY COVER THE EXPENSES?

  • If you have a public helalth insurance, then the company will cover the costs of the flu vaccination.
  • The employees and students who have a private health insurance will receive a written invoice, which must be paid immediately in cash. If you are eligible for aid, no cash payment on site is necessary. Employees and students with private health insurance can have the invoice costs reimbursed through the cost reimbursement procedure.  
  • No vaccination is possible for people who have only a foreign health insurance and no German public or private health insurance.

 

FAQ

  • Which vaccine will be used?
    At this years flu vaccination a so-called Quadrivalent flu vaccines (Vierfachimpfstoff) will be used.

  • Is it possible to participate and pay on-site?
    Yes, you can do this. Privately insured persons who are not entitled to a subsidy must pay immediately on site.  

  • Are there also other vaccinations offered besides of the flu vaccination?
    No, unfortunately not this year. In view of the current situation, we are restricting ourselves to flu vaccination.

  • Can I take part in the flu vaccination without vaccination records?
    Yes you can. The most important is the proof of insurance.

  • What is the vaccination for? And what are the benefits of getting it? Is there any side effects also?
