Comparison of different localization solutions in wireless sensor networks using nodes based on standard and UWB hardware

- Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) present one of the most representative and vibrant examples of networked embedded systems. With the emergence of location-based applications, location finding techniques are becoming increasingly important almost in all WSNs.
The prior research work has shown that the existing software/hardware solutions, including a lot of different refining schemes, in the industry of nodes localization in WSNs are still either too inaccurate or too expensive to use them in the indoor location estimation. The purpose of this research work is to present relatively new solutions for localization in WSNs using nodes based on UWB and their comparison with the practically proved results that have been got on the standard hardware wireless nodes using narrowband.
