This scientific monograph deals with the issue of 3D model reconstruction of a rotation part from its orthogonal projections recorded on a digitalized drawing in vector format and with computer-aided automation of the process. The topic is a partial task of the domain focused on generating the 3D part model or product from a technical drawing.

The introduction comments on the analysis of the current state of information in the field. The rules of projecting the parts in a technical drawing are described as well as the related terminology and methods in computer graphics, mathematics and geometry. The computer-aided ways of modeling solids are analyzed. The introductory part is complemented by an overview of existing solutions by other authors and by the possibilities of my own method development.

The monograph core is focused on the proposal of proceedings and algorithms for transformation process automation of 2D vector record comprising orthogonal projections representing the rotation part on a 3D model. The pilot implementations of algorithms and their verification by testing on the selected sample of geometric shapes are added.

Combined control dynamic systems comprise both parts of discrete systems: real-time activated discrete dynamic systems as well as discrete event dynamic systems. The combination of cyclically recurring processes with stochastically generated events significantly intervenes into the control, while also affecting the choice of the right sample period, as it is necessary to process all the generated interruptions within the cycle. The current monograph focuses on the analysis of combined control systems and determination of the stochastic event element of the sample period. It proposes an appropriate sample period for combined control systems and introduces a methodology for determining the impact of a stochastic element on the system stability and properties. The main contribution of the monograph is the design of an adaptive algorithm for events processing and auto-correction of the event element of sample period.

This publication deals with the application of standards for industrial automation during distributed control systems design. Control systems design consists of a choice between two approaches based on the standards, IEC 61131 and IEC 61499. The question is which of the standards to use for distributed control systems design. The most commonly used standards are briefly listed in the introduction section. Then follows a more detailed description of the IEC 61131 and IEC 61499 standards, future development of the IEC 61499 standard and its usage during the creation of distributed control systems. Further on are lists and descriptions of existing commercial and research software tools, which are necessary in implementing this standard. The main section deals with the methodology for standard application comparison and criteria selection for comparing. This methodology is then verified on real control systems. The final section includes methodology generalization for suitable approach selection, resulting in recommendations for which standard to choose during creation of distributed control systems.

The aim of the work is to contribute to the qualitative and quantitative analysis of nonlinear dynamical systems of the second order with high-speed feedback, which can also be generally introduced into higher order systems which at present are gaining an increasing amount of popularity in use of the high-frequency oscillators in electronic circuits. Singular Perturbation Theory is the mathematical framework that yields the tools to explore the complicated dynamical behavior of these systems. The issues of path and trajectory planning algorithms and optimization of industrial manipulator trajectory generation are still not completely solved due to their variability and increasing complexity with the growing number of robot degrees of freedom. Generation of an optimal trajectory can be solved in several ways, such as traditional numeric and more recent approaches, which include evolutionary algorithms and genetic algorithms within them.

The first chapter is devoted to a brief overview of path planning methods, especially in mobile robots. The second chapter deals with a more detailed overview of robot path planning methods in continuous and discrete environments. The third chapter describes the most popular motion planning algorithms. The fourth chapter is dedicated to genetic algorithms which we used as an optimization method. The fifth chapter focuses on optimal robot motion control and optimization methods using genetic algorithms as the method for an industrial manipulator control. The next chapter contains a solution and its implementation in support software, as well as the experimental verification of the results. The last chapter evaluates the results and their benefits.

The monograph proposes a suitable process application for a knowledge discovery process in industry databases. The entire process was divided into distinct stages. First, the subject matter to be resolved by employing the knowledge discovery process was identified. Next, the data of the production system was analysed. Several mining models, in which various methods and techniques of data mining in dependence on analyzed data and subject matter investigated, were developed. In order to examine how interesting and useful the knowledge discovered was, it was applied to a production system, whose data operated as input data to the process of KDD. The results achieved proved that the knowledge discovered was useful and a modified simulation model achieved the predicted behaviour.

Finally, the proposal of the process application methodology of knowledge discovery in industry databases is discussed. This methodology describes the particular steps of implementing the process of KDD. The proposed methodology can help identify specific requirements and potential problems in the process stages that might be encountered in the course of its application in the industry.

Opening of local communication means of technological devices towards networks available to public, supervision of devices, and remote technological devices administration are the characteristics of modern automation. As a result of this process the intrusion of unwanted elements from the Internet to control networks is seen. The contribution is focused on the insurance of control systems data communication via neural networks technologies in connection with classical methods used in expert systems. Structural analysis of structural parts with stiffness variation can be difficult. The stiffness variation of elements can be modelled by average values of cross-sectional and material parameters and applying the fine FE mesh.

For elimination of mentioned disadvantages of classical finite element applications, a two-node nonlinear bar element with the continuous longitudinal variation of stiffness was developed in the first part of the monography. The stiffness matrices of the bar element were derived using full geometric nonlinear nonincremental formulation of equilibrium equations without any linearization.

In the second part, the stiffness matrices of geometrically nonlinear beam finite element were derived using full nonlinear nonincremental formulation. The matrices of two-node plane beam element with symmetric cross-section and constant stiffness were formulated. The accuracy of new nonlinear elements were compared and assessed by numerical experiments against ANSYS analyses.

This monograph focuses on a proposal for a testing model in safety critical systems. Due to the large scope of these systems, we have focused on the system testing and we have included requirements for testing the communication subsystem.

After establishing the theoretical background for testing, we have defined the differences and specifics of traditional software systems and safety critical systems, based on standards and guidelines analysis for various safety critical systems.

The system testing that we are using is not clearly integrated into the process of design and development of safety critical systems. Therefore, we have proposed basic steps of this process to which we have integrated system testing.

Given the scope of the system testing, we have decided to propose two testing models. We have focused on performance and step stress testing. These models implement requirements for testing of safety critical systems specified by us.

To verify the proposed models, we have defined a metric. Based on its value we can determine whenever the proposed model meets testing requirements specified by us.
