Course Fundamentals of Electronics.
The students receive an overview on important developments in GHz and THz electronics. They become familiar with the figures of merit, design, and operation of relevant types of GHz and THz devices. The students are introduced to important transistor types for GHz and THz application (e.g., high electron mobility transistors, heterostructure bipolar transistors) and to understand the operation of these devices. They become familiar with the problems of information processing at extremely high frequencies and are enabled to critically assess future trends in the field of GHz and THz electronics.
