learning outcome

The student is familiar with fundamentals of the propagation and diffraction of light as well as the classical vectorial electromagnetic description of the interaction of light with material surfaces. Classical design of optical elements, including Fresnel lenses are known. Iterative algorithms for beam profiling and shaping.
Introduction to coherence theory can be applied.
