Die Studierenden haben nach der Vorlesung vertiefte Grundkenntnisse der Topologie und kennen einige Grundbegriffe der algebraischen Topologie. Nach den Übungen sind die Studierenden befähigt, Aussagen der Topologie zu analysieren und mit den aus der Vorlesung bekannten Methoden zu beweisen.

I. Topologische Räume (Grundbegriffe, metrische Räume, Bairesche Räume, Verbände) II. Stetigkeit und Konvergenz (Filterkonvergenz, Initialtopologie/Produkträume und Finaltopologie/Quotientenräume) III. Trennungseigenschaften (Hausdorff-Räume, reguläre und normale Räume, Metrisationssätze) IV. Zusammenhang V. Kompaktheit (Quasikompaktheit und Kompaktheitsschluß) VI. Einführung in die Algebraische Topologie.

Wer den unifizierenden Aspekt der Maßtheorie mag, dem wird auch Topologie gefallen.
