Video (Studio) Production

Die Lehrveranstaltung wird in englischer Sprache gehalten.

This lectures will be held in English language.

The students learn to understand the video production chain. They can classify and analyze different processes from the viewpoint of visual perception. The students get practical experience in some selected fields of video production and learn to present them.


Introduction to video production and production chain; Visual perception; Camera Sensors; Displays; Coding and IP-based transmission; IP-based services; Tests and models for video quality assessment; Media synchronization; Video studio work-flow & technology; Networked studio
Seminars about: Technical evaluation of cameras; Processing; Coding settings for different purposes; Subjective tests in video quality; video quality models

Grading scheme

Seminar talk: 30%
Practical part and presentation: 40%
Oral examination (30 min): 30%
