The NICR RGB-D Orientation Data Set

The NICR RGB-D Orientation Data Set is a data set consisting of RGB and depth images as well as of colored point clouds for the upper body orientation estimation of humans. It consists of 108,505 data samples of 37 persons. For each sample the angle perpendicular to the ground was labeled precisely with an external tracking system.

Details about the data, the recording setup and the distribution of the data can be found at NICR RGB-D Orientation Data Set Package.

Send the completed form  by email to nikr-datasets-request@tu-ilmenau.de to acquire a login. Please note that the dataset is available for academic use only (academic institutions and non-profit organizations) and needs to be signed by a permanent staff member of any of these institutes. Therefore, you may have to ask your supervisor to sign.

Code and Network Weights

The Deep Orientation code including some sample images of the data set as well as the weights of the best neural networks we used in our paper are available at Deep Orientation.

A package for reading and using the NICR RGB-D Orientation Data Set in python is available at NICR RGB-D Orientation Data Set Package.
