To support medical staff in an ICU, a system is to be developed for guidance of the therapeutical process in traumatic coma.

The basis of the investigations are complex spatial-temporal features, which are provided by partners from the first constituent project part ( adaptive signal analysis, extraction of maximally significant complex features).

For the investigation of the interaction of the input dimensions the time dependencies of those dimensions shall be captured using several time horizons (e.g. Time Delay nets, nonlinear function approximation). As a result, a prediction of dependent dimension on several time scales is envisioned. Simultaneously, subtasks in the therapeutical process are to be defined in close cooperation with the medical partners. Direct subgoals can be derived from directly accessible dimensions to be controlled (observance of a certain range, minimal deviation from a set value ....). Predicted dimensions (prediction of directly subgoal-relevant dimensions from raw process data, essential especially for varing time scales and delays) are relevant as indirect subgoals, as not only the current state of the patient, but the expected outcome of therapeutical interventions is crucial in the decision regarding the current action proposition.
