Biomedical Engineering is technology for life. It takes directly effect for the good of man. Its purpose is the exploration and development of technology-oriented methods and systems for the early detection, diagnosis, therapy and rehabilitation of diseases. Biomedical Engineering as a multidisciplinary engineering science field has achieved an excellent position as an indispensable partner for medical research and practice and the medical technology industry with its diverse methodological and engineering contributions. The aim of the bachelor and master program Biomedical Engineering is the education of graduates with established basic engineering knowledge, outstanding methodological competence and a strong understanding of current medical questions. With the acquired practical medical-technical knowledge, you can be successful in an attractive interdisciplinary career as a partner of the physician in medical-technical research and clinical practice, in the application and in a wide range of other areas of the medical technology industry. Successful studies lead to the degree “Bachelor of Sience”, which qualifies for a career as well as for a consecutive master’s program.

Practice during studies

The basic internship is an academic achievement with a duration of six weeks. It should be fulfilled preferably before the start of studies, but can also be completed before the end of the sixth semester. The professional internship during the seventh semester takes 16 weeks and can be completed in companies at home as well as abroad.
