The bachelor degree with consecutive master program for teaching certification for vocational schools imparts the ability to give lessons in the selected subject in vocational schools. It is offered together with the university Erfurt. The apprenticeship in the first subjects electrical engineering or metals technology is based on the joint engineering basic studies and on the subjects from the bachelor program Electrical Engineering and Information Technology or Mechanical Engineering.
The professional training in the polyvalent bachelor program at TU Ilmenau takes place in first and second subjects. Electrical engineering or metals technology should be chosen as a first subject, while chemistry, computer science, mathematics, mechatronics, physics or economics can be chosen as a second subject. Further second subjects can be taken at the University Erfurt. Only one module on educational science in the amount of 9 credit points is fixed in the 5th major-related semester.
"Polyvalence" refers to the possibility to decide whether to continue the consecutive master program in the first subject electrical engineering or metals technology at TU Ilmenau or to continue the master studies at University Erfurt after completing the bachelor program (with a duration of 6 semester).
