Application documents

Research Assistants / Ph.D candidates / Post docs candidates applying for admission in the Telematics/Computer Networks Research Group are asked to provide us with following documents / information (electronic applications in PDF format incl. scanned diplomas etc. are explicitly encouraged):

A) a CV including among others,

  • 1. your postal address, phone number and e-mail
  • 2. the record of your education, with the highest degree explicitly marked. Be specific concerning the known/ proven equivalences of this degree with German diploma or US Diploma
  • 3. the record of your non-university experience internships, industrial projects...etc

B) a list of all classes you have taken during your studies, including marks! (please include also a short explanation regarding the marking system of your university)

C) description of your knowledge and working experience in the area of communication networks and protocols

D) description of the skills in the area of: telecommunication networks, programming and operating systems

E) names and e-mail addresses of 2 scholars who MIGHT write an informed letter of reference.

F) electronic copies of publications (if any) and your final diploma / master thesis

G) a statement if you have financial support (e.g. a grant from some organization) or do you seek a position with full financial support? Please consult the DAAD, DFG and Humboldt Foundation (Programs offering support for research activities).

H) statements / proves of your language skills in English and German

INCOMPLETE applications will most probably be ignored....sorry....

Important Note:

Our research group is at the moment not able to provide financial support for summer internships (e.g. 3 month summer internship as required by some curricula). Please apply only for short-term internships, if you are either able to provide your own funding or can obtain a scholarship from a funding organization like DAAD, etc.

Nevertheless, we are generally interested in working with visiting research students if funding issues are solved.
