Ashutosh Singla, M.Sc. arbeitet seit September 2016 als Doktorand im Fachgebiet Audiovisuelle Technologien an der TU Ilmenau. Seine Forschungsinteressen umfassen Bild- und Videocodierung/-verarbeitung, Deep Learning und die Verbesserung von QoE in immersiven Multimediatechnologien. Derzeit arbeitet er an der Evaluierung und Verbesserung von QoE in Head-Mounted Displays.

Im Mai 2015 schloss er sein Studium der Nachrichtentechnik an der RWTH Aachen mit einer Masterarbeit über die Optimierung der HEVC-Videocodierung (Prof. Jens Rainer Ohm) ab, in der er die konventionelle Intra-Prediction durch Segmentierung erweiterte. Von Oktober 2014 bis September 2015 arbeitete er bei Huawei Technologies, Düsseldorf, Deutschland, als Ingenieur für Funknetzoptimierung.

Von März 2016 bis September 2016 arbeitete er in der Multimedia Signal Processing Group (MMSPG, Prof. Touradj Ebrahimi) an der Eidgenössischen Technischen Hochschule (EPFL), Lausanne, Schweiz, an einem Projekt zur Klassifizierung und Erkennung von Lebensmittelbildern.
