Frequency compensation for a class of DAE's arising in electrical circuits. - In: Proceedings in applied mathematics and mechanics, ISSN 1617-7061, Bd. 11 (2011), 1, S. 837-838
Structured perturbations of regular pencils of the form $sE-A$, $E,A\in\dR^{n\times n}, ˜s\in\dC,$ are considered which model the addition of a capacitance $c$ in an electrical circuit in order to improve the frequency response.

Reparametrizations of non trace-normed Hamiltonians. - Ilmenau : Techn. Univ., Inst. für Mathematik, 2011. - Online-Ressource (PDF-Datei: 23 S., 344,7 KB). - (Preprint ; M11,17)
We consider a Hamiltonian system of the form y0(x) = JH(x)y(x), with a locally integrable and nonnegative 2_2-matrix valued Hamiltonian H(x). In the literature dealing with the operator theory of such equations, it is often required in addition that the Hamiltonian H is trace{normed, i.e. satis_es trH(x) _ 1. However, in many examples this property does not hold. The general idea is that one can reduce to the trace{normed case by applying a suitable change of scale (reparametrization). In this paper we justify this idea and work out the notion of reparametrization in detail.

A k-server problem with parallel requests and unit distances. - Ilmenau : Techn. Univ., Inst. für Mathematik, 2011. - Online-Ressource (PDF-Datei: 11 S., 207,5 KB). - (Preprint ; M11,16)
In the paper a k-server problem with parallel requests where several servers can also be located on one point is considered. We show that a HARMONIC_p k-server algorithm is competitive against an adaptive online adversary in case of unit distances.
